Happy Canada Day!

Today I have for you a few images and a song that Dan and I recorded this past week. We had a different plan. But this song ended up being what we felt to record. It Speaks of the power and beauty of the Name. The Name above all names. Our Saviour Jesus. Just the mention of it, the speaking of it, the SOUND of it… His name, because of who He is, has all the power and authority and beauty to bring light out of the darkness.

I have always been a bit of a science nerd in that I am fascinated by how things work. I am a questioner. A studier… not necessarily of information but in the observing of things. And the hearing of things… listening. And something that has blown my mind over and over again is sound. Not just because I’m a musician but because I’m fascinated by the affect it has on us, and the world around us.

These images below were created by using frequencies of sound in water and hitting them with different coloured led light beams, then capturing the patterns with a special camera. I am not tech savvy by any means but one thing I really love about the technology we have today is that it gives us the ability to discover more about who Elohim, our Creator God is in His creation. Maybe it’s just me but… I feel like science is continually PROVING the existence of God, though it may seem otherwise.

When I looked upon these patterns… I felt the need to fall on the floor. Thinking of the words from Genesis… Let there be light… and God separated the waters from the waters… He spoke creation into being. There was sound, over the waters, and there was light, and there. Was. Where there was not. Out of the mouth of our Father came everything into being, from a sound, into life. I don’t think I can say the name of Jesus again without wondering how it will reverberate into the atmosphere.

I wonder… what comes to mind for you… where do your thoughts and hearts go? What do you look upon in wonder of who Elohim is?

God be so near to you all this week,

-Melinda
