Worship Wednesday, June 10

Worship Wednesday, June 10

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 NIV

Good afternoon Anchor Point Family! Today’s Worship Wednesday offering comes to you from Chad Kroeker. I remember very clearly the day last year he shared with me that the Lord dropped a song into his heart during one of our services. Soon after that, we got together and he shared the beginnings of “O, What a Mystery” and a few other songs he had been working on over the years. It was so awesome and inspiring to hear how the Lord was speaking to Chad powerfully through the Word and how he creatively put that to music. I love that all it takes is a tiny seed to be planted, and with tender care and attention, it grows into something beautiful.

I was asking the Lord what I should post for this week, and I wasn’t getting a sense or inclination towards anything specific. I had a few ideas, but none that felt… right. Last night I received a message from Chad that said, “hey, working on sending you an original song…”

…and there was Worship Wednesday:)

In February of 2019 I began writing this song. During the first worship set at the 9 am service at Anchor Point, there was an instrumental portion, and the words and melody of the chorus to “O, What a Mystery” suddenly came to me. I wrote down the words and over the next few days and weeks the song unfolded.

Donavan’s message that day emphasized that Christ is actually in us, and it is only because of that truth that we actually have hope.

Thank you Chad for sharing this with us today, what a blessing!
