Darryl Friesen has a book club and you’re invited! The group will meet on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM, in the lobby of the church. The group will discuss several books, one at a time. Anyone is welcome to sign up and join for the books they want to read, and skip the ones they don’t!
Our next readings will be woven into our upcoming corporate Prayer and Fasting time. Two short books have been selected as classic and historical examples of Christian writing dedicated to the spiritual disciplines and the “living out” of our faith in meaningful, practical ways. This makes them perfect choices to enrich and amplify our church family’s season of Prayer and Fasting.
There will be one evening discussion dedicated to each book in its entirety. On January 20th at 6:30pm we will discuss The Didache: The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles. Then on February 3rd at 6:30pm, we will discuss The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. As long as you read each book prior to the date of discussion, you’ll be set to join! Both books, in various editions, can easily be purchased online, or accessed for free via public domain sites:
