Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at an Anchor Point Church service?

We believe in being our genuine selves, no matter how messy life can get! We dress very casually, so please come just as you are. Anchor Point’s 1.5-hour church services start at 9:00 am and 11:00 am every Sunday. If you can’t attend in person, our 11:00am Sunday service is also live-streamed on our YouTube Channel.

On Sunday mornings there will be coffee & tea available, and friendly faces who would love to meet you! Grab a hot drink in the lobby, then find a seat in the sanctuary. Our church services start with songs of worship led by a band, followed by a time of biblical teaching, then one final song to close the morning. There is also space at the end of each service to receive prayer from someone on our prayer team.

If you’re nervous or have questions before you come, feel free to connect with us at info@youranchorpoint.com so we can be ready to meet you!

Do you have childcare available?

Yes! We have an incredible team of Anchor Point Kids leaders to care for your small children during our 9:00 am and 11:00 am services on Sunday mornings. Kids from newborns up to those in Grade 6 can check in with a leader downstairs and receive a name tag. We ask that kids in Grades 7 and older join us in the service.

How do I get there? Where can I find parking?

BUS

Are you using Winnipeg Transit? These bus stops on Pembina Hwy at Waller Ave are the closest stops to our building:

  • Northbound stop # 60242
  • Southbound stop # 60243

BIKE

If you are riding a bicycle to our building, there’s an area near the front doors (facing Pembina Hwy) where you can use your own lock to secure your bike to the rails or beams.

DRIVE

The parking lot behind our church is small but offers several spaces for disability permit holders. Street parking is free on Pembina Highway, Dowker Avenue, Kenneth Street, and Fletcher Crescent.

Many businesses nearby have agreed to let us use their parking spaces, but only outside of their normal operating hours in the evenings and on the weekends (see below for details). Please observe the reserved parking signs during their regular business hours.

  • Vincent Massey School: Park in the larger lot behind the school and walk a short distance to the back doors of the church. You’re welcome to park here after school in the evenings, or anytime on the weekends.
  • Balcaen & Sons: A few closer parking spots are available directly north of the church, against the front and back of the Balcaen & Sons building. You can park here on weekday evenings after 4:30pm, or anytime on weekends when they are closed.
  • Cottage Bakery: Note that our neighbours at Cottage Bakery are now open 7 days a week, including Sunday mornings! This means their parking lot is not available for us during Sunday morning services. However, you are welcome to park in this small lot any time after business hours. Free parking is available here Monday – Saturday after 6:00pm, and Sundays after 3:00pm (they re-open at 7:30am daily.)

All these areas, seen on the parking map, are free of charge.
