The New (and Superior) Covenant

We continue this week to look at “the old” through a comparative lens with “the new.” Last week, we saw that the old Leviticus priesthood was inferior to the new priesthood of Jesus. Today we study how the old covenants, particularly those made with Abraham and Moses at Mt. Sinai, are inferior to the new covenant made with us through Jesus. We see that some aspects of these old covenants have been fulfilled and made obsolete, others continue in a very similar way for us as for the OT Israelites, and still others have been transformed into new practices that reflect their ultimately-intended and profound truth and purpose.
